"Adrift" is an instrumental concept album inspired by the geography and history of the Great Lakes. I wanted to write a soundtrack to an imaginary voyage, beginning in the port of Duluth, Minnesota and ending in the Atlantic Ocean. I wanted to capture the wonder of adventure, the whimsy of sailing, the terror of a storm, the quiet beauty of lakeside sunrises, and the wistful longing for a city of safe harbors.
